Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a foreign national. I was admitted for permanent residence into the United States in September, 2010. In other words, I am a holder of a green card.
I read Translation Studies in the USSR, at the Moscow State Institute of Foreign Languages ( now renamed Moscow State Linguistic University ) from where I obtained an MA in Russian and French in 1973.
Furthermore, under the supervision of Prof. Jean Gagnepain, the founder of the theory of mediation ( théorie de la mediation ) – a clinical anthropology that diffracts human reason into four planes of rationality, of which language is one, I was awarded a Ph.D in Linguistics at the Université de Rennes-Haute Bretagne in France. I worked on the sociolinguistic foundations of translation. Afterwards, for about three decades, I taught various aspects of French Applied Linguistics at the tertiary level of education in Nigeria. My training in Linguistics and my teaching background also mean that I can teach Yoruba as a spoken language or the linguistics thereof since it is my mother tongue. In addition, my background in Russian and later on in Linguistics will enable me teach the structure of Russian as well as Linguistics.
My quest is to obtain a challenging position in the American University System which will enable me utilize my extensive professional and administrative experience in contributing to the position and assist the Institution concerned in meeting her goal.
Thank you for your anticipated consideration.
